Greek company Ionic, owned by Dimitris Sarakakis, is carrying out two major drydocking projects simultaneously, with two vessels from its fleet undergoing their second Special Survey on different continents.
The Ionic Anassa, a 2016-built Aframax tanker constructed at Japan’s Namura Shipbuilding, is currently at the Skaramangas Shipyards in Greece. Meanwhile, the Ionic Unicorn, a 2016-built Ultramax bulk carrier built by Japan’s Mitsui, is undergoing its survey at Xinya Shipyard in China.
According to the company, the concurrent execution of the two large-scale drydock projects highlights the coordination, dedication and professionalism of all parties involved.
Ionic thanked both shipyards, as well as its technical and marine departments, and the masters, officers and crews of the two vessels.
The company recently placed orders for four newbuild tankers at Japanese shipyards, reaffirming its strategic commitment to fleet renewal and modernization.
